Microchip compatibility tester

The PetSafe® microchipped cat flap or the Petporte smart flap® microchipped cat flap will only work if your cat is microchipped.

 

At present, some older, non-standard microchips may not work with this cat flap. You can check whether your cat's built-in microchip will work by entering the number in the box below and clicking the 'check' button.

 

You will find your cat's microchip number on the microchip registration form provided by your vet.

 

Description

With its advanced selective entry technology, our PetSafe® microchipped cat door is designed to allow your cat easy access to the outside world while keeping other cats and pets out of your home.

Using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology, the PetSafe® microchip cat door works by reading the unique ID of your cat's microchip without the need for a collar or other accessory. When your cat approaches the cat door, the door will respond by opening to let your cat in. The cat door will remain closed and deny access to unprogrammed cats, wild animals, vermin, and abandoned animals.

The cat door is also designed with 4 manual closing positions that allow you to control access for your programmed cats.

With PetSafe® microchip (PPA19-16145) it reads the most common types of microchip implanted in cats - FDX-B (15 digit). If you are not sure what type of microchip your cat has, try our microchip compatibility checker and enter your cat's microchip number to verify compatibility.
